Vrishvardhan Sharma is a nine year old Sanskrit scholar and self taught developer from India. In March 2026 he took first place in अष्टाध्यायी Kaṇṭhapāṭha at the 63rd Akhil Bharatiya Shastrotsav, competing against university students. He has written four free applications and built two working hardware readers for the texts he has memorised.

Vrishvardhan Sharma is a nine year old Sanskrit scholar, application developer and hardware builder from India, educated at home. He memorised the complete Bhagavad Gītā at five by self study, and Pāṇini's अष्टाध्यायी, some four thousand sūtras, at eight. In March 2026 he took first place in अष्टाध्यायी Kaṇṭhapāṭha at the 63rd Akhil Bharatiya Shastrotsav, his third consecutive year on the national podium, in a competition open to all ages whose field was aged eighteen to twenty five. He has since written four free offline applications and built two voice activated hardware readers by hand. He intends to become a research scientist.

He memorised the complete श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता, all seven hundred verses, at the age of five, by self study and without being set the task. At eight he memorised Pāṇini's अष्टाध्यायी, roughly four thousand sūtras, with the grammar and the meaning rather than the sound alone, and the अमरकोशः in all three kāṇḍas. He recites Ghana Pāṭha, the most intricate of the Vedic recitation patterns, including Ghanapāṭhī of Śrī Rudram. He has handwritten the complete Gītā in eleven Indian scripts, three separate times, the first finished at seven, and in June 2026 composed a प्रशस्ति of ten Sanskrit verses of his own.

In March 2026 he took first place in अष्टाध्यायी Kaṇṭhapāṭha at the 63rd Akhil Bharatiya Shastrotsav at Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram. It was his third consecutive year on the national podium, after second places at Ayodhya in 2024 and Haridwar in 2025. Sanskrit competition of this kind is open rather than graded by age; the field he won was aged eighteen to twenty five.

So that the texts he holds in memory would be reachable by people who do not, he wrote GitaVardhan, Kannada Vardhan, Tamil Vardhan and Telugu Vardhan, all free, offline, and carrying no advertising or tracking, and built two voice activated Gītā readers by hand around an ESP32 core, neither of which connects to a network. He speaks Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Spanish, Kannada and Marwari, and intends to become a research scientist in nuclear fusion and space technology.
